Your RSS data stays on your device by default.

1. Local RSS and app data

RSS subscriptions, feed articles, Focus Cards, reading history, and AI summaries are stored on your device. FocusRSS does not currently use iCloud sync or require an account.

Local content is retained for 90 days by default. When you add or refresh a feed, a request is sent to the relevant RSS, Atom, or JSON Feed server. That server may receive the IP address and request information normally included in a network request.

2. Bring-your-own-key AI

If you enable BYOK AI and initiate a summary, FocusRSS sends the Focus question, your prompt, selected articles, and source URLs to the AI endpoint you select. It does not send your full RSS subscription list.

Your API key is stored in the iOS Keychain. The endpoint you select is a third-party provider. Its own terms and privacy policy govern its processing, retention, and deletion practices.

3. Hosted AI and third-party providers

Hosted AI is disabled at launch, so the launch version does not send request or response content through a FocusRSS-hosted AI service. If enabled, FocusRSS will not store request or response content, but will store usage metadata in logs for 14 days.

No analytics or crash-reporting provider is used. In BYOK mode, the third-party provider is the AI endpoint you choose. Provider information must be disclosed in the service and this policy before Hosted AI is enabled.

4. Retention and deletion

RSS data, articles, Focus Cards, reading history, and AI summaries on the device are retained for 90 days by default. You can delete relevant content in the app or remove local app data by deleting the app. AI credentials can be removed with their endpoint configuration.

FocusRSS does not provide accounts, so there is no in-app account-deletion process. If Hosted AI is enabled, usage logs are retained for 14 days; request and response content is not stored.

5. Analytics, advertising, and this website

FocusRSS uses no analytics or crash-reporting service. This website uses no cookies, trackers, advertising scripts, or external fonts.
